Birthday Outing To The Isle Of Wight

Outfit of the day

Big Shiny Cocktail Ring

Vintage Brooch

(Outfit: Hunter Wellingtons, M&S Opaque Tights, River Island Floral Skirt, Vintage Sweater, Vintage Brooch, Dorothy Perkins Necklace, Accessorize Ring, Scarf – Unknown)

I am a very lucky girl indeed. My wonderful boyfriend surprised me, a day early, with a trip to the Isle of Wight for my birthday. I had no idea what my outing was and I was told to dress for anything, which was not very helpful at all.

So I attempted a warm, pretty and practical look in the hope I could look somewhat acceptable whilst maintaining some kind of comfort. I wore my Hunter Wellies and a big warm coat as my ‘insurance’ items and paired them with my favourite vintage white sweater and a floral skirt. Then I just accessorized up and away we went.

We visited Osbourne House, the old home of Queen Victoria, where we took a guided tour around the most gorgeous rooms. Those Victorians had impeccable taste!

We visited the Owl and Monkey Haven where they rescue just Owls and Monkeys. It sounds like a weird combination but those animals turn out to be two favourites for me and the boyfriend. I also received my first birthday present – I adopted a Javan Langur called Fudge. He has the most amazing ginger mohawk and loves to entertain.

And finally we visited the Garlic Farm, which is home to the UK’s leading expert on garlic. They sell all manner of garlic products and are super-friendly, taking the time to chat to us about growing garlic and the various types of garlic. It was awesome.

It was a most wonderful outing and I feel terribly spoiled. It was, without doubt, the best birthday ever!

P.S. To celebrate my old age I am doing a little giveaway. I am on a journey to achieve my aspirations this year and I would like to know what you are going to do to make your dreams happen too. You can enter here —> Giveaway <— for a little stash of goodies.
