Canada Here We Come!

In a few days time, the boyf and I will be hot-footing it over to the land of maple syrup, Mounties and really big trees. Yep, we are heading to Canadia (they really should get that ‘i’ put in there). The bestie is getting married in Toronto (incidentally to a friend from my childhood – but that’s another story…) and I have the great pleasure of being one of the bridesmaid’s for the occasion. The dress has arrived, the shoes are ready to be worn in (cue traipsing around the house in shiny shoes) and the wedding present is ready to be wrapped (can’t wait for that one!). Excitematation!

I have however forgotten that I don’t own a proper suitcase and I am without a strapless bra for my bridesmaid dress and I have neglected to sort out travel insurance yet. Argh!! Everyone to their panic stations immediately.

Needless to say, I still have quite a lot of ‘sorting out’ to deal with before heading off for the wedding of the year and the first holiday the boyf and I have ever had. (and we still haven’t organised where we are going or where we are staying for our second week there – eek!).

Expect some awesome blog posts from Canada next week. I am determined to share the maple syrup-induced love with you all. And I cannot wait to finally visit the land of bears, trees and maple syrup. Oh and apparently there is a pretty little waterfall there called Niagara…

Whoa there! Before all that, I need your help.

Dear readers, dear friend’s, what on earth do I pack to go to Canada next week?

  1. I’m so jealous! That’s the one place I really want to go.
I hope you have a great time and eat loads of fantastic food.. like poutine! x

  2. Hey, hope you’ve managed to get everything sorted for your trip away. sounds like it’s going to be awesome! I just found your blog via Twitter and have had a little peek..i love it, and your style!

  3. Maple syrup, Mounties, big trees, and let’s not forget beavers & bears & blue jays, and best of all – poutine! hehe!
You’ll be here in July, so it will be perfectly summery; a lovely time to pop up to the Great White North, eh? 😉
If you’re going to Niagara Falls, you might want to go to the Butterfly Conservatory – I haven’t been in a very long time, but I’ll never forget walking amongst so many beautiful butterflies & moths! Was magical!
I live about 1.5 hours north of Toronto, in “cottage country” – I can’t believe you’ll be so close! I wish I could pinpoint some cool Toronto locales to you, but I haven’t been to the big city in years. I used to visit a section called Kensington Market that had quirky shops & vintage finds. Courage My Love was/is a pretty fun shop that’s found there:
Enjoy your visit & have a fabulous time at your friend’s wedding! 🙂

    1. Caren!
Thank you so much. I totally want to see a beaver too. 🙂
I think my best mate also mentioned Kensington Market so I’ll definitely go there.

  4. Eeeek. I am so jealous. I bet you’re so excited.
The boyf and I are planning an trip to Vancouver in January and i get excited now thinking about it.

what you’re wearing should be the least of your worries – what you’re going to take all the pictures on so you can share the trip should be what you’re thinking about.

    Have an amazing time.

  5. I agree with taking layers. Toronto has been having some cooler days lately but can get VERY humid in the summer, so layers and sunscreen and waterproof layers too. And HAVE FUN!

  6. I have no idea what you would take to Canadia! Would love to go though!
Hope you have a fantastic time and you friends wedding goes well!

  7. Well I’m thinking a suitcase should be top of the list else you wont be taking anything!! Have a FAB time. Am very jealous. Looking forward to some photo updates. Especially if you see a Mountie like the one from Due South 😉 Anyone else remember that programme? x
