Honest Review: Embryolisse Lait Creme Contentre

There’s something so satisfying about browsing the shelves of a French pharmacy. The skincare products just scream out to be taken home and all these names that are now quite familiar and available back home in the UK were there first.

When Raj and I went to Paris to celebrate our engagement last November I picked up a tube of the Embryolisse Lait Creme Contentre, a cream that I’m sure is intended as moisturiser for the face but I’ve actually found a different use for it.

The Embryolisse Lait Creme Contentre has a thick consistency and whilst it does soak in well it does leave a slight sheen. It is super hydrating and feels like it forms a barrier over the skin.

I haven’t used it too much on my face as it feels a tad too thick for daytime wear. It also contains shea butter and beeswax which I’m not too keen to put on my face on a daily basis.

However, when I went skiing in January this stuff was AMAZING for protecting and soothing my face from the biting cold. It acted as a windshield barrier and stopped it from drying out.

My favourite use of this cream is as a hand cream.

For the longest time I struggled to find a hand cream that did what I really needed it to do, and that is to fully moisturise my hands WITHOUT leaving a sticky, gacky layer over them.

I use my hands a lot. Most of us do. And the last thing I need when I’m bashing out some words on my keyboard is a greasy residue left all of the keys. Raj already tells me off for letting my laptop get too dusty.

The Embryolisse Lait Creme Contentre is super moisturising AND absorbs without being greasy. It’s lovely as hand cream.

So yes… the Embryolisse Lait Creme Contentre is a rather good all rounder and I’m pleased to have in my skincare arsenal. You could probably use this as a quickie moisturising mask, a make-up remover, or if you’re really in a bind as a hair softener. Yes, I did accidentally smooth this through the ends of my hair thinking it was my leave-in conditioner.

The active ingredients are all natural, which is nice. They include shea butter, beeswax, aloe vera and soy proteins.

I enjoy this very much. You might like it too.

Embryolisse Lait Creme Contentre is available in the UK from most of the usual stockists and including Feel Unique, Cult Beauty, and Space NK.
