Guest Post: The Clothes Collector by Rachel

Elizabeth: “I moved house last weekend and will be probably be without internet for a bit. So whilst I am knee-deep in cardboard boxes and frantically searching for the box containing the kettle I have some very lovely Guest Bloggers looking after Rosalilium. Please make them feel at home and share the love. See you on the flipside!”

Hello lovely friends of Rosalilium! Whilst Elizabeth is still amidst the madness of moving and unpacking, she has kindly let me do a little guest post for her.

After first feeling excited to be doing my first guest post, and on such a lovely blog, I had a sudden thought….

“Holy moly, what the heck am I gunna write?”!!

So after an evening of brainstorming (ie drinking wine) I came up with a whole load of nothing.  Nada!

My next thought was to just do exactly what i do over at My Blog., ramble on about absolute nonsense.
Hope you don’t mind.

Well I’m Rachel *hellloooo* and I write over at Rachel The Hat, where I blog about outfits, talk about family life and generally like a nice chit chat.

Now, if I were to tell you a bit about me I could tell you I’m a wife, mummy and step mummy, business owner  and general happy go lucky kinda gal.

What you should know about me is I am a HUGE clothes collector, or as my husband refers to me, a hoarder!

I just can’t help it, I’m terrible at de-cluttering, getting rid of generally saying good bye to things. I see minimalist living and it looks nice, but I can’t do it!  I have clothes, shoes, bags and hats spilling out of every available orifice in my house. It is literally bursting at the seams!

But this is my collection, like art to a collector, like stamps to a geek ;), like trains to a trainspotter. Clothes are my thing.

Dress: El Vintage
Shoes: Poetic Licence
Jewellery: All gifted and old

I LOVE colour, and I love mixing vintage and retro with high street, which generally means even more stuff in my little house.

Like an artist with a palette I love to mix colours and textures of outfits and experimenting.  I can not paint, draw, sculpt or anything remotely crafty, so this is my daily outlet for my kind of art.  Don’t get me wrong I’m not talking masterpieces here here, but outfits that are bright and cheery brighten my day and make for a happy me.

What’s your thing? Do you craft, decorate or put outfits together for fun like me?

Well, I will love you and leave you, I could chat the ears off a dead donkey (hmmm thats a bizarre, slightly gross saying!)

Thanks for reading and thanks Elizabeth for having me.

Rachel 🙂

p.s. If you like free pretties I’m currently hosting a giveaway on Rachel The Hat, feel free to come join in.
