Ole Henriksen Herbal Day Creme SPF 20

I mentioned in a video a month or so ago that I was struggling with dry skin all of sudden. My skincare routine hadn’t really changed nor my diet but I suddenly found I was unable to get enough hydration into my skin. My face just felt constantly tight all the time. ’twas rather annoying.

I imagine it was a combination of age, apparently our faces do get drier over time, coupled with an inordinate amount of stress and total lack of sleep for the past few months.

Whatever the cause I just couldn’t find a moisturiser, or a serum and moisturiser combo to work for me.

Until now…

I received this Ole Henriksen Day Creme as a gift from the Harvey Nichols event I went to last month so I hadn’t gone looking for this in particular. Yet, it’s turned out to be a star product.

First of all when you open the pot, nice glass packaging by the way (always feels a tad more decadent), you get the fantastic aroma of citrus. The smell itself is winner for me. Love it. It’s an ideal scent for the morning to give you that zing to wake you up.

The texture of the moisturiser isn’t too thick or gloopy but quite a small amount goes a long way. As you can see in the photos the pot looks barely touched but it’s been used every day for the previous two weeks.

The cream itself feels super hydrating. There’s a slight sheen to it and I feel like I need to let it sit for at least 15 minutes to truly soak into my skin before applying make-up. I like that it does feel like a protective layer on my skin, I guess that’s the SPF working then.

It has chamomile extract and grape seed oil in it so I wonder if those are the elements that helped lock the moisture back in my face. Whatever it is, it’s working well for me.

I’ve heard a bit of buzz on beauty blogs and social media about this brand but not delved into them until now. I’m quite excited to try a few more the Ole Henriken products, I think they might suit my face as it goes through changes in my thirties.

Thumbs up from me.
