I shared this outfit in my autumn lookbook video and totally forget to post the photos on the blog, oops!
As I was having a spring clean of my hard drive I found these photos and whilst they may be from 6 months ago (blimey, where did the time go?!) I thought it might be nice to share them properly with you anyway.
After all, this outfit was inspired by one of my all-time favourite Buffy the Vampire Slayer outfits – for fans of the show, you’ll know what I mean.
In my outfit inspired by Buffy I’m wearing a pretty white lace dress with a soft black leather jacket over the top. Unlike Buffy I opted for black heels rather than white ones, that would feel a bit too wedding-y for me.
At the end of season one of Buffy, she goes to kick ass and save the world all the while dressed in a school dance dress and topped with a leather jacket.
It’s the perfect combination of feminine and masculine styling, and I love it. It’s a timeless approach to fashion, in my opinion. And one I’ve found myself constantly coming back to.
When I was younger your would often find me dressed in floral dresses paired with chunky biker boots. Even nowadays I love to structured jackets over flowy outfits.
It’s hard to believe that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is 20 years old! And yet, that outfit would look totally in place today in the fashion world as it did then.
Love it.
