Joy. Pure joy is what I felt when we had about 8 inches of snow on Sunday. For the entire day we watched as light fluffy snow came floating down to create this growing carpet of white over everything you could see.
It was stunning.
We get such little snow in this country, and often the snow we do get fails to settle or it quickly turns to sludge and melts. On the rare occasions we do get thick snow in the UK, I do let to try and make the most of it. Even if it is just to kick it about in the garden.
Happy winter folks! I think it’s fair to say it has well and truly arrived and we’re in for the long haul. Here’s to finding joy through these darkest and coldest months of ours. If anything, looking back at these photos has reminded me just how important it is to be child-like, to have fun, seek joy, and be present in the moment. Those are certainly virtues I would like to carry forward into this new season.
