Weekend Morning Routine

Morning RoutineMy weekend routine is relatively similar to my week day routine except every step of the routine is stretched out over time. There’s a lolloping sense of time on a weekend morning. Time just stretches before you and your brain gives you permission to slowly stretch out as you begin the weekend relaxation.

I wake up some time between 8.30 and 9.30am at the weekend. I have a good stretch and have a cuddle with the boyf. We’re a cuddle-y kind of couple. You know, always holding hands and whatnot. It’s nice to start the day with a cuddle. I then plod along the corridor to make some tea or coffee, or if I’m lucky the boyf will volunteer for the hot beverage run.

We sit in bed drinking our morning caffeine and chat about the dreams we had the night before or what we have planned for the weekend.

Sometimes Papa Rosalilium, who is always an early riser, will be making us a Full English Breakfast, so we’ll sit down to eat together. Other times I might whip up some fluffy American-style pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. Other times we’ll keep it simple with my favourite peanut butter on toast.

After food it’s time to get dressed and ready for the day. Yes, I eat my breakfast in my pyjamas. I’d live in my pyjamas if I could, they’re so comfy!

And then we’re off for the day. Either running errands, going on outings, visiting family or just mooching around the house.

Maple syrup … and bacon … TOGETHER?! Hell, I thought my husband’s habit of eating cheese and jam together was odd, but maple syrup and bacon tops that! I should really try it, shouldn’t I? 😉
