Who DOESN’T want to have a nosey in another lady’s make-up bag? I know I do. I love to see what everyone else has stashed away in their box of prettifying treasures.
In the spirit of sharing here are the everyday essential items in my ‘what’s in my make up bag’ post today.
OK, so these are currently my most used products at the moment. They’re the ones in my everyday make-up bag at home and generally how I wear my make-up on a daily basis.
As often as possible I’ll try to go without base just so my skin doesn’t get too upset with me. When I do use foundation I use either the Chanel foundation which is medium coverage and has pink undertones. Most foundations have yellow undertones, so it took me a while to find one that matched mine. For a lighter coverage I’m loving this Bourjois gel foundation, it’s perfect for making my skin tone look more even on a light summer’s day.
If I need my make-up to hold all day I’ll use this Rimmel primer before the base. It’s nicely mattifying and makes it all stay in place.
For blemishes I use the Rimmel concealer, again it’s pretty matte and holds in place most of the day. I then use the YSL Touche Eclat as a highlighter under the brows, on my inner eyes and on the top of my cheek bones.
After that I brush lightly with the Maybelline bronzer just around the hollows of the cheek, under the jawline and up the temples. For blush I’m using this icy pink Clinique blusher just on the apples of my cheeks.
I’m not much of an expert on make-up brushes, must work on that, but I am enjoying this beauty blender sponge and this powder brush for foundation and powder.
For eyebrows I use my Tweezerman tweezers on an almost daily basis, because this brunette has ALL the eyebrow. I then fill in any gaps and shape with the Tarte amazonian clay pencil which I picked up in the Sephora in Bangkok.
For my eyes I am absolutely in love with my new Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette, I can create so many different looks with it. I always use a liquid eyeliner, I’ve been using this Bourjois one for years now. It’s the one I always go back to. If I’m going for a more defined look then I’ll use the Urban Decay 24/7 velvet eyeliner on my waterline. To finish I’m using my current favourite mascara, the YSL Babydoll, it’s super black and makes my eyelashes look super long. Great if you have shorties like me.
For my lips I have three current favourite lipsticks, a red, brown and pink. The red is from Rimmel and seems to suit everyone. The brown is a new one from L’oreal and the pink is a Clinique chubby stick. I’m still not having much luck with lipliners but this Body Shop clear lip fixer helps prevent bleeding from the more pigmented lipsticks.
