How to Make Raspberry Vodka

I love raspberry vodka. Following on from my previous DIY vodka attempts (see Blackberry Vodka and Toffee Vodka) I have now made my first batch of homemade Raspberry Vodka. Oh yes, I predict great things for this batch.

I would love to say that I foraged for the raspberries myself, but good intentions fell by the wayside and I just missed the season. So for this recipe I bought some delicious raspberries from the supermarket. They look pretty good quality, and I’m sure they will do the job for this first try.

Another simple recipe, you only need a large mason jar, 325g of raspberries, 325g of sugar and 2 litres of vodka.

After the toffee vodka experiment I have decided to go back to fairly medium-grade vodka as the cheapo supermarket burns-the-back-of-your-throat variety is not conducive to happy heads the next day.

6. Enjoy with a splash of lemonade. My favourite.

So there is another batch of delicious booze is slowly maturing on the bottom of my wardrobe, and hopefully the raspberry vodka should be read to drink by Christmas. My handmade Christmas is starting to shape up nicely.

Do you have any good ideas for homemade gifts? I need to make something non-alcoholic now.
